Captique
Captique is the FDA approved clear gel injectible wrinkle filler made by Inamed Corp. It is made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring sugar found in the human body. This dermal filler is utilized for the immediate and temporary correction of moderate to severe wrinkles. It can be used for smile lines, crow’s feet, nasolabial folds, to fill in acne scars and make lips appear fuller. Because it has no animal product and the ingredients used are also occurring in the human body, there is no need for a skin test, as with collagen. One can have a consultation and treatment in the same day. Captique is similar to Restylane, however it is in a softer form and therefore less likely to cause swelling to the treated area. As with any injectible fillers side effects of this wrinkle treatment include but are not limited to lumpiness, bruising, pain at injection site and swelling.
