Contour Threads

Contour Threads are utilized during a contour thread lift to give patients a tighter, more youthful appearance.  A contour thread lift is an FDA approved procedure using nonabsorbent threads or very thick wires to lift sagging skin in the facial area. A Contour Thread Lift is often referred to as the lunchtime face lift because of its fast procedure time, usually less than an hour, clear threads with barbs on the ends are inserted under the skin to gently lift sagging skin and muscle. The results are immediate with minimal scarring, minimal anesthesia and minimal downtime.

As aesthetic procedures begin to evolve, more treatments are being developed that can be performed faster, involve less risk and require minimal downtime.  When compared to a traditional face lift which involves the removal of excess fat and sagging skin for a smoother, tighter appearance, the contoured thread lift can offer the same results in a fraction of the time.  The only downfall is that the results of the thread lift will not last as long as those of a traditional face lift.  However, many patients are willing to undergo treatments more often knowing that they will be faster and will require less downtime.

Oftentimes Contour Threads will be used in conjunction with BOTOX® and dermal fillers which can help to further lift the skin for excellent results with quick recovery time. It has been reported thread lifts can last up to 5 years. The cost ranges nationwide from $2000- $5000. While this can lift the sagging skin, threads do not replace a full surgical face lift so it is important to weigh all the options and outcomes before committing to this treatment.
