Cosmetic Surgery

Surgery is the process of treating by removing or repairing and Cosmetic Surgery is the process of removing, repairing, reshaping or augmenting for aesthetic reasons.  It is considered a medical sub-specialty interested in the improvement and enhancement of facial and body structures.  This surgical specialty deals with sustaining a “general” normal appearance of a cosmetic ideal through enhancement or restoration of treated areas of the body.  It is generally thought to be more for aesthetic reasons than medical and is therefore considered “Elective”.
