Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is a series of microinjections into the Mesoderm (or area of the skin between the dermis and deep layer of fat), to dissolve fat and reduced the appearance of cellulite. It has also been reported to treat overall weight loss, spot weight reduction, eliminate wrinkles and revise scars. Recent techniques have also included correcting uneven lumps or divots after a liposuction procedure. The medication used is a combination of pharmaceutical and homeopathic medications, enzymes, plant extracts and multivitamins. Once injected into the skin, the solution is reported to destroy connective tissue bands and melt the trapped fat that causes cellulite. The result is a smoother dimple free appearance. Once dissolved the fat is excreted by the natural waste elimination systems of the body.
Treatments are administered on a weekly basis and patients report seeing results after the fourth treatment. Significant results of lost inches have been reported after 10 weeks of treatments. Typical side effects are bruising, burning sensation, mild to moderate soreness at the site of injections. The caution with Mesotherapy is that there is not one standard solution used. It is important to consult with a physician who specializes in these microinjections. |
