Palomar Fractional Resurfacing
The LUX 1540 is a Palomar Fractional skin resurfacing laser. Fractional skin resurfacing lasers are used to treat wrinkles, scars, pigmentation and sun damaged skin. The treatments work by treating a ‘fraction’ of the skin, using an objective lens and adjustable beam to determine the depth of the laser penetration within the dermis. As with all lasers utilizing the fractional technology, this laser works by asserting high precision microbeams of light that create deep thin columns in the epidermis and dermis. Treating only 20-25% of the skin at a time, the LUX 1540 offers minimal redness and discomfort and does not require topical anesthetic for added comfort. And because only a portion of the skin is treated at one time, the light that penetrates the dermis is able to spare surrounding tissue, allowing the untouched tissue to initiate faster healing times. The results are only effective when completed in a series of treatments so all skin areas can be touched on.
